"Kenya is One Nation."

Kenya is One in Unity.
Kenya is One in Spirit.
Kenya is One in Purpose.
Kenya is One in Strength.

Kenya is not Dividing.
Kenya is not Separating.
Kenya is not Falling.
Kenya is not Breaking.

Kenya is Uniting.
Kenya is Rising.
Kenya is Thriving.
Kenya is One Nation.

COMPARING OUR STRENGTHS TO CREATE UNITY IN KENYA.

We are always comparing ourselves with other people.
It is a natural thing for human beings to compare themselves with friends and acquintances. The way you compare yourself with the other person determines if the comparison has a positive effect or a negative effect. Kenyans need to compare each others strengths and best moments to enhance unity.
Negative Comparisons.
Kenyans have a tendency of comparing their best to the worst of a fellow Kenyan. This creates a mentality where one community thinks it is better and superior than the other one. It makes them feel like they do not need the other community.
Some Kenyans only see the worst things in Kenya. The see Kenya as full of sufferings and misfortunes. This kind of thinking only magnifies the negative things and blinds people from seeing the great things that are happening in our country.

You can also Read,"Common-Unity in Kenya."

A Powerful Comparison.
The best wat to compare each other and enhance unity in Kenya is by comparing our best with the other person's best. This makes us to be intereted in our brothers and sisters in Kenya.
When we begin to get interested in other Kenyans, we start to learn more about them and understand them well. We begin to get closer to each other and relate to each other.

When we can share our strengths, we can become a bigger and stronger nation. Our diversity is also our strength. Seeing the best in all of us is a great place to start building unity.

COMMON - UNITY IN KENYA.

Kenya needs a common unity for social support and for bringing solutions.
A community is a group of people that have built a common-unity. A community is more than an ethnic tribe, a community can be  Kenya as a whole. When all ethnic communities come together in Kenya, they build one community known as Kenya.
Common-Unity.
A common-unity is when a Kenyan sees another Kenyan struggling and offers a helping hand. It is when a problem needs to be solved and all Kenyans come together and give everyone the feeling of belonging and togetherness.
We are social beings and everyone is an important part of this country called Kenya. No one and no community needs to be isolated from other communities. Someone said that,"No man is an island." It is true that we cannot live by ourselves, we need other human beings.

You can also read,"Educating Kenya for Unity."

A Community is Built on Unity.
Unity starts with an open heart and an open mind. An open attitude allows us to comprehend things well and fine tune our perception. All human existance is social in nature, we need each other.
It takes unity in communities to create a beloved Kenya. A community is people bounded by relatedness, respect, justice and love. We need to realize that an injustice to one is an injustice to all of us.

As Kenyans we need to take actions towards uniting our country. It takes all of us coming together to make that difference. Each of us doing a little can amount to all of us doing so much.

EDUCATING KENYA FOR UNITY.

Education is a transformational journey to take people from where they are to where they could be.
We can use this transformational journey to take Kenya from where it is now to a place of unity. A complete educational system has four parts to it. A teacher, a willing student, knowledge and a flow of the three.
A Teacher.
A teacher can be anyone, it is not only the person standing before the audience and speaking to them. Anyone sharing valuable information is a teacher. You can learn from anyone.
Stories change people's minds. To understand each other we have to tell stories. These are stories of our experiences in life. Through stories we have a chance to build relationships. We can build unity in Kenya by telling each other stories that show how unique and valuable everyone is.
A Willing Student.
A willing student is anyone who is ready to learn. When someone is speaking you, you should listen to understand them well.
In uniting Kenya, we have to be willing to learn more about our neighbour, their different experiences and their culture. This creates a bond and a unity.
Knowledge.
Knowledge is about facts. We need to learn and understand more about unity. We need to understand that if we are not united then we have set Kenya up to fail. We should never let divisiveness prevail because we are most powerful when we are together.
Knowledge is not power. Knowledge is potential power. If you have knowledge and you don't put it to practice then it is wasted. In uniting Kenya we have to be intentional and do things that unite us.

You can also read,"We Are Powerful Together."

A Flow of The Three.

In using the education structure to unite Kenya we have to get people who boldly talk about unity and bring people together. We need to talk about unity and develop understanding in us to a point that we can listen to other people and empathize with them. Then take it a little further by doing actions that will unite Kenya.

WE ARE POWERFUL TOGETHER

Kenya will either unite within itself or crumble from within.
Kenya is made up of many communities who are gifted in many different ways and if we can find a way to integrate these skills then we can be able to create a very powerful country that cannot be beaten in anything.
A bead necklace is complete and strong when all the beads are well tied together. When one bead is missing then the whole necklace becomes weak and incomplete.
Blessings in Kenya.
Our country is blessed with marathon runners who have reaaly made us proud several times by creating world records in marathon races and beating equally great athletes from other countries.
It is true that not all of us can run a marathon, but we have our brothers and sisters from Kenya who can run really well and they represent us before the world. They carry our flag and sing our national anthem
Kenyans Representing Kenyans.
Whenever a team is picked to represent Kenya in any competion, they represent all of us as Kenyans. When they win medals and trophies, it is recorded in history that Kenya won medals and trophies.
It doesn't take a million Kenyans to win a championship. It takes just a few gifted ones. We select the few who are well talented to represent us and win medals for us.
A swahili proverb says that, "Umoja ni nguvu, utengano ni udhaifu." Which can be translated as "unity is strength and division is weakness." Another wise man said that, 'Each of us need all of us and all of us need each of us." Separation and division is not our best option.
Kenyans Uniting to Fight Vices.
We need to unite as Kenyans and fight against the things that are fighting our country and our unity. Instead of fighting a fellow Kenyan, we need to fight the things that are hurting our brothers and sisters in Kenya.
We can stand together as Kenya and fight things like radicalisation which poses risks of terrorism in our country. We can stand together as Kenyans and fight the injustices that are trying to divide our nation.

You can also read, "Unity in Kenya Starts with a Thought."

Kenyans Hating Evil.
Instead of burning with anger and hatred towards a fellow Kenyan, we can burn with anger and hatred towards the evil things in our society.

It is okay to have hatred, but not hatred against another human being. A hatred that hates injustice and division. A hate that will lead to change that unites us as Kenyans.

UNITY IN KENYA STARTS WITH A THOUGHT.

Thoughts are powerful. What you think you become.
James Allen wrote in his book, As a man thinketh in His Heart, that, "Mind is the master power that moulds and makes, and man is mind, and evermore he takes the tool of thought and, shaping what he wills, brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: he thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: Environment is but his looking glass."
Thoughts of Unity.
Unity in Kenya begins as a thought. It is thinking about uniting with fellow Kenyans. It is a personal repsonsibility to start conceiving and entertaining thoughts of unity.
Humans beings are social beings and we can't live in isolation. The concept of dividing Kenya through ethinic communities is a false concept. Kenya is one nation under God.
Dichotomous Thinking.
We have this kind of thinking going on in Kenya which says that it is us against them. It identifies people as other people from another community. This kind of thinking is called dichotomous thinking, where people think that they are always in a battle with other people. This kind of thinking creates fear and disintegration.
This kind of thinking is a wrong way to look at your fellow Kenyans. It creates a perception that through division people can have a life of their own.
We need other Kenyans for Kenya to be complete. Kenya is made of more than 40 communitiesn which makes it unique and strong. If we can embrace each others strengths then we can be united in our diversity.
We Can Embrace Unity.
If we want to enhance unity in Kenya, we have to start with ourselves. We have to believe that we can create unity in Kenya with our consciousness. The words that we use are very powerful, they can either build or destroy. Words have the ability to produce a reality.
We need to be careful not to degrade anyone and practice the idea of not saying a negative word to anybody. We need to think about creating real and deep meaningful relationships.

Unity Starts with You.

We have a hope for a united Kenya. The heart is the organ of transformation. This is where we can find love , peace, compassion and harmony. Change starts with you. Unity starts with you. Mahatma Ghandi said,"Be the change you want to see in the world."

THE ONLY CONSTANT THING IS CHANGE.

Change is inevitable and things are rapidly changing. We need to stay alert and expect change to happen. What you are afraid of is never as bad as what you imagine. The fear you let build up in your mind is worse than the situation that actually exists.
Change Happens.
Change happens and it will continue to happen. Nothing remains the same. The sun rises in the East and sets in the West and day has to give way to night. That is a change that happens daily and most of us anticipate and plan well for it.
In the same way, we need to anticipate change whether it is as simple as day and night or changes in our personal lives. We need to notice the small gradual changes and plan accordingly before the great change happens. It doesn't get dark in a second, the sun disappears slowly as darkness takes over and we begin to prepare for the night.
Monitor Change.
Change does not happen as abruptly as an electric blackout. Change starts slowly and gradually and we need to stay alert. Most break-ups don't just happen in a day. It starts with not replying texts, missed calls and not returning the calls and series of mis-communication, mis-understandings and lost of affection.
When change happens we need to adapt to it quickly. The faster we adapt, the quicker we can recover. It is true that you might lose some privileges but with change comes new things and opportunities that we can take advantage of.
Change Yourself.
You also need to change yourself. Some people do their best to cling to the past and they are blinded to the new things that are happening around. Change with change. Develop new habits and skills that will help you manage the new situation.
Enjoy the new change. Get familiar with new things and be open minded. You will make a few mistakes with the new things, which is okay if you are willing to continue learning and becoming better.

You can also read,"You Become a Success Once You Begin and Follow-Through."
Be Ready to Change.
Now that you understand that change will always happen, be flexible and keep your options open. It is true that we might be afraid of what is happening or what will happen next, but we must be ready for the next step and plan accordingly.

Envision yourself finding something better. Reflect on the past mistakes and use them to plan for the future. Be flexible and fast because the more time you take to move, you probably won't. There is something much better out there waiting for you to overcome your fear.

PERSUADE BY ASKING QUESTIONS, NOT CONVINCING.

In his book, Selling 101 by Zig ziglar, he says that you don't persuade by telling, you persuade by asking.
A lot of people try to persuade others by convincing them of their way of thinking. This makes them tell the other person a lot of things that they don't need to know. Instead, one should ask morequestions and listen to the answers.
Professional Sales people.
Professional sales people ask more questions to discover the needs of their prospective clients before trying to sell their products or services to them. Just like a doctor has to examine the patient before prescribing a course of treatment . They don't jump into the details of how their product or service is superior than others.
Professional sales people examine their prospects to discover exactly what they need and then provide a suitable solution. They are master listeners.
The Art of Asking Good Questions.
The person who asks most questions in a conversation is the person who is in-charge of the conversation.By asking questions, I'm not suggesting that you go round interrogating people so that you can take advantage of them. What I'm saying is that you genuinely get interested in the other person and ask questions that will reveal their true need so that you can provide a solution.
When you become genuinely interested in their other person they will appreciate and open up to you in return. This forms a good relationship and a bond with the other person. When you also ask questions to take advantage of the other person they will know and hate you for that.
The Art of Listening Well.
After you ask questions, listen well. The aim is to understand the other person's point of view and empathize with them not simply waiting to say something or ask another question. You should listen so as to understand.
Great listening involves listening with your ears, eyes and heart. You listen with your ears to hear the words they use, you listen with your eyes by watching their body language and listen with your heart to feel their emotions.
Empathy provides Solutions.
In order to persuade other people you have to ask good questions and listen well to their answers. You cannot persuade by doing your best to convince the other person. In convincing you say a lot of things that the other person doesn't need to know.
Genuinely get interested in people and ask questions that will help you provide a solution. People will like you for that. Listen well to what the other person is saying and empathize with them. Empathy helps you feel what the other person is feeling do you can produce the best results.

YOU BECOME A SUCCESS ONCE YOU BEGIN AND FOLLOW-THROUGH.

Success is not an event, success is a daily thing.
You don't become successful the day you receive your certificate during graduation, or when you receive a medal in a competition. You become successful the day you make the decision to become the best in your field.
You are Either Preparing or Repairing.
Successful people prepare for the future through vision and they don't sell their vision for a little comfort. When you are repairing your past, you are not preparing for the future because you have to go back and make things right before progressing.
Preparing for the Future.
Preparing for the future is looking at a few years into the future and planning well for it. It is thinking about the kind of person you want to be in future and what you want people to recognize you for. It is also about building a personal brand that everyone can identify you with.
Repairing Past Mistakes.
Repairing, on the other hand, is about looking at the past mistakes and figuring out how to get yourself out of it. Maybe you got a little bit comfortable with life and never gave a thought about the future and now things are kind of tough and complicated..
Success is a Journey.
Success is a process or you can call it ajourney. It's not about getting into a new venture and becoming the best with little effort or overnight success. Some people say that they became overnight success after working on their craft or skills for years.
Climbing a Mountain is a Process.
It is said that you cannot climb the tallest mountain in a single day, and if you do, you might lose your life the moment you reach the top summit. This is because the air at the top is so dense and a normal human being cannot survive.
So the easiest way to climb to the top summit is by climbing it in steps and getting into different levels of the mountain as your lungs adjust to the level of oxygen provided in different level. With that in mind, their is no short-cut to success.

You can also read,"The Mind as An Inspiration."
Everything Counts.
It is better to start preparing early enough, create a vision that will help you stay focused and determined. If their are some things that need to be repaired, get to work now and fix them as you being to prepare for the future. Whatever you do daily counts and it leads to success.
John Maxwell teaches that,"Whatever you're doing daily is either taking you closer to or further from your success. So everything counts, whether it is in  your advantage or disadvantage.

THE MIND AS AN INSPIRATION.

The mind plays a very important role in our lives.

The functioning of our body fully depends on the mind and it also has influence on our day to day life which we call reality. Research has proven that that the mind can alter the reality that we live in.

As a Man Thinks In His Mind so is He.

Just as James Allen said, "As a man thinketh in his mind, so is he." Our lives are shaped by the thoughts in our minds. For the mind to work as an inspiration it has to accept this responsibility. Everything starts from the mind, so inspiration has to come from the mind as well. What the mind receives and accepts gladly it will look for ways to accomplish. Nothing can really distract it or make it do otherwise.

You can also read,"Life's Push is a Learning Opportunity."

Thoughts creates Habits

What we think makes a pattern in the mind and that is how we behave and talk. If the mind can accept that you are a warrior then it will form you to be a warrior. Your words, ideas and actions will awlays express the warrior within you.

The mind is a good servant and also a worst master at the same time because it works as it is programmed. If your mind is programmed with positive thoughts then it will perform positivity everytime but if your mind is programmed with negative thoughts then you will be a product of negativity. As they say, "Garbage in,  garbage out. "

LIFE'S PUSH IS A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY.

Life pushes all of us around. Some people give up and others fight.

In his book,"Rich Dad, Poor Dad," Robert Kiyosaki wrote that,"Most of the time, life does not talk to you. It just sort of pushes you around. Each push is life saying,"Wake up. There's something I want you to learn. If you learn life's lessons, you will do well. If not, life will just continue to push you around.

Learning from the Push

Some people just let life push them around and they open up to learn new things. It might be losing a job, heart break from a relationship or a lost opportunity. These things may look like misfortunes but they also carry fortunes within them. Change is inevitable and things are changing rapidly.

We need to develop a mindset of flexibility and growth. We need to look at what we can learn from every situation we find ourselves in. The quicker we learn the quicker we can move. The more time we dwell on thinking of our loss, the more we get pushed by life.

Getting angry and Pushing back

Some people get angry and push back. They push back the wrong things and people, not realizing that its life that is trying to teach them something. They might fight hard to regain their lost job, or former partner or even start to beg for lost opportunities.

We can fight as hard as we want but when its time for progress, there is nothing else we can do but accept the outcome and move on. Humans are created for growth and if we are not growing we are dying. Real learning takes energy, passion and a burning desire.

We can use an analogy of a flowing river. A river that flows will always have fresh water, but a swamp which harbors its water will be filthy and a breeding place for insects and diseases. In the same way,  a mind that is always growing will be fresh with ideas and plans for progress.

You can also read,"What Does 'TIME' Mean?

We Need to Learn as Much as We Can.

When life pushes us around a few learn the lessons and move on. They welcome the experience but most quit and a few like to fight. What we need to understand is that life is trying to awaken our minds and help us learn so that we can do better.

Change is happening everywhere and we need to be flexible and keep our options open. Each day is a learning opportunity, every outcome is also a learning opportunity. We cannot stop learning.

Jim Rohn taught that a tree will grow as tall as it can and stretch its shoots as far as it can. Human beings are better than trees. We too need to grow and stretch as much as we can.

WHAT DOES ‘TIME’ MEAN?

If you allow your reality to be bigger than your dreams, then your dreams will never be bigger than your reality. This is Daniel Ally’s observation.

The acronym ‘TIME’outlines elements needed for success. These four elements are “Time, Information, Money and Energy." Success leaves clues and is a result of habits. This means that to be successful, one needs to establish a healthy routine overall.

                                                     TIME
Bill Bailey said that, "life is not simply the passing of time;instead, it is a collection of experiences and their intensity." We each have 24 hours in a day, what makes the difference is how we manage these hours.

Time is the most important thing because you cannot have more of it. It flies fast and we have to make use of every minute because once it is gone it can never be recovered.

INFORMATION
We live in the information age. The amount of knowledge is increasing every minute. Every now and then, there is a new bit of information fighting for our attention.

The biggest challenge we face is sifting this to find the most important and useful information for us. Once we have identified this, the next step is translating this information into action because it is not enough just to know and understand.

The Bible instructs us to be doers of the wordWe must be responsible and make sure that every piece of information that we put out there is of value to other people.

MONEY
The love of money is the root of evil but money is very important. You cannot enjoy all the goodness of life without money. The problem is not having money; the problem is learning how to manage it.

Financial literacy is what makes the difference. That means learning to make money, save it, investing it and keeping it.  Just as Daniel Ally taught his audience in a talk, once the mind is ready, the money will come.

ENERGY
Being successful means expanding your energy. Unsuccessful people are always unwilling to do this. When it comes to use of energy, the Pareto principle80/20 rule should apply.

Success requires you to identify the 20% that you need to invest in to get the 80% result. There is always a set of skills needed to make one stand out as the best. If you can put your energy into perfecting these skills, you are on the route to success and you will definitely stand out from the crowd.

You can also read,"Confidence is a major part of Success."

USE ‘TIME’ TO SUCCEED
Time is essential for success. It is your best friend if used wisely, but always seems to be running from you if you misuse it.So far, we have learnt that we must use time wisely, identify valuable information and consume it, strive for financial literacy and spend energy on what gives us the best results.

CONFIDENCE IS A MAJOR PART OF SUCCESS.

Confidence is not about lack of fear, it is about moving forward inspite of fear. You might be scared to death but you still execute and progress.
Someone once said that 10% of success is achieved by just showing up. This calls for self confidence, believing in yourself and in your abilities. It is not about being full of yourself, but accepting some worthiness in you and stepping out to achieve what you need. Here are three things you need to build confidence in;
1. Build confidence in Yourself.
The images that we hold in our minds about ourselves really affect our level of confidence. A famous quote says that,"If you think you can or you can't, either way you are right." It starts with what you think about yourself. See yourself as capable and qualified and this will manifest into reality.
A research once revealed that top athletes practice in their minds before they go out to the field to perform. They see themselves performing extraordinarily well in their minds and winning the tournaments even before they step into the field. This boosts their level of confidence and enthusiasm to perform well.
2. Build Confidence in Your Vision.
A vision is an image of the future, an image of where you want to be a few years and what you want to achieve. Simon Sinek, a leadership trainer teaches that a "vision should not be something within your grasp, it should be something that even scares you when you think about it."
Even though a vision is something we have not yet realized, we should be confident about it. We need to believe that we are going to achieve it no matter what it takes. The bigger the vision, the greater the opportunity of growth. The greater the vision, the more challenges will be met to achieve it.

You can also read."Reaction Versus Responce."
3. Build Confidence in People.
Our attitudes are contagious and people can catch it just like a cold. To instill the attitude of confidence in people you have to portray confidence first. Just as a baby tries to imitate every move a parent makes, followers imitate the leader.
As a leader, it is your responsibility to build confidence in people. Tell your people that you believe in them and that you are there to guide them. Create an atmosphere of growth and development.
Let your people try things and fail, teach them on how to learn from their mistakes. Coonfidence is built by trying and doing, then failing and learning, and then trying again with a wiser mindset and doing it even better.
Confidence is an Art.
Confidence is the art of believing in yourself no matter what. Your competitors may be more qualified and better equipped but you canstill show up and bring more competition.

Visualize a better future in a vision. A vision that makes others think that you are crazy. Live in the future and build it in the present. Think long-term and not short-term. Help other people build their confidence in themselves.

Be their coach and trainer and instill confidence in them. Their is a phrase that says, "We can learn more by teaching others."The more this art is mastered,  the better placed you are for a life of success.

REACTION VERSUS RESPONSE.

You can either react or respond to a situation.
Reacting to a situation means that your thoughts, emotions and actions are driven by what is happening around you. Responding to a situation means that you take charge of what is happening. You think calmly, control your emotions and choose what to do next.
Reacting to a Situation.
Many people react to what is happening around them. They are like  a boat sailing with no direction and any wind that blows, changes their course immediately. They get carried away with what is being said in the media. Every news makes them react in a certain way and fear is what drives them.
Jim Rohn once said that, "Everything happens to everyone, the difference is what you do about it." This means that everyone is affected by everything that is happening around us but what makes the difference is what you do after something happens. Do you get scared and go into the primal fight or flight response or do you stand your ground and defend your rights? The choice is yours.
Responding to a Situation.
A few people respond to what is happening to them. These people are aware of their sorroundings and anticipate what might happen. They are self confident and they believe in themselves. They see themselves as being capable of handling their situations.
Responding to a situation is to be able to calm your mind and your spirit and think clearly about what is happening around. You then choose the most positive actions that will create a better outcome. This is a skill that can be learnt and applied to our lives everyday. The people who stand out from the crowd are not better than everyone else, they simply do what others are not willing to do.

You can also read, "The Future is Built Now at This Moment."
Extra-Ordinary People Know More.
You have total control of how you handle your situations. You can either react or respond and that will influence your actions afterwards. When you react to things it means that  you get carried away by the flow of things, but if you respond to things it means that you take control and decide how things will go from that moment.
We all live in the same world and we all experience almost everything that everyone is experiencing all over the world. What makes the difference is the determining factor between average and outstanding performance. Taking charge of situations makes you stand out from the crowd. Extra ordinary people know what ordinary people don't, and that is that they are fully capable of handling every situation they find themselves in.
