THE FUTURE IS BUILT NOW AT THIS MOMENT.

The future is not built in the future, the future is built today.
What we do everyday impacts the future.  The choices we are making today and the decisions that we are arriving at today affect tomorrow's outcome. So we are either setting ourselves up for success or for failure.
Busyness versus Progress
Being busy doesn't mean that we are moving forward or progressing. It might be like a dog chasing its own tail. The dog may look busy but it is literally not doing anything productive. So the lesson is, make sure that all the activities you engage in are geared towards moving you a step ahead in life.
Correcting Mistakes
At this moment you might be correcting your past mistakes. You might be deeply in debt and you are trying to get out of it by paying off your debts and learning more on financial literacy. You can also be rebuilding a broken relationship by adding more trust to the emotional bank account and valuing the other person. All this contributes to a better tomorrow.
Preparing for Opportunities
You must also prepare yourself to take advantage of future opportunities.Take time to hone your skills and becoming better at your craft. As it is said, "practice makes perfect," and by practicing daily, our skills are strengthened and our brains continually develop. You need to put yourself in a position where you are ready to take advantage of any opportunities presented to you. Just like John Maxwell puts it, "Success is not a destination, success is the process."

You can also read, "Empathetic Listening Allows Others to Open up to You."
Success is the Process
The future is built today by what we are doing at this moment. What we are today is what we started becoming yesterday. Progress is not measured by how hard you are working, it is measured by what you are actually accomplishing.

So at this moment we should be focused on either correcting our mistakes or preparing for future opportunities. Life is full of choices, each choice we make has its consequences. We should also understand thatsuccess is not the final event, but the process to the big event.
