THE TRUTH ABOUT LEADERSHIP.

Leadership is a term that many people have tried to define.
There are thousands of articles and books that have been written to try to come up with a concrete definition of the word leadership. Many seminars and workshops have also been held to define leadership which has led to various definitions of leadership hence confusion and misunderstanding.
Leadership is Learnt.
The truth is that all great leaders need a foundation to build their leadership skills on. Leadership is learnt more than its taught. To be a great leader you have to know the truth about leadership. This is the foundation where your knowledge will be learnt from to prevent being swayed by any arguement that has been raised towards leadership.
Through a good and a strong foundation of knowledge about leadership one can be able to analyse various opinions and ideas presented with wisdom.
Leading by example.
In practising leadership, actions must be expressed because a leader leads by example. Being a leader requires that you walk the talk by doing what you say.
You should be able to do something well as your followers abserve, so that you may do it again with them and later, your followers may do it on their own as you observe. Being a practical leaderhelps you instill a working mentality on the follower and throught hat you become a good example and a role model.
Decision Making in Leadership.
A leader must understand that they will always be required to make decisions. A leader should be a person who is able to collect enough information and analyse it thoroughly in order to come up with a suitable decision.
A leader should not be afraid to make decisions. At times a leader can make the wrong decision and hurt the  whole organisation but it should not be a discouragement.
When it comes to decision making, a leader should be firm and focused for them to be effective and benefit the whole organization.
Leadership is Influence.
All leaders should understand that influence is the main ingredient of leadership. Without influence there is no leading. Influence is the ability to gain followers. John Maxwell says that, "If you are leading and no one is following, you are only taking a walk."
An effective leader is a person who can attract followers by portraying positive traits. Through influence, a leaders should be able to provide service to others. Leading through service is a strong and positive influence to the society.
A leader should be a person who is working hard for the benefit of others and inspiring others to do the same. An effective leader should portray an attitude of influence through service for the benefit of everyone.
You can be a Leader too.
Anyone can become an effective leader. Leadership has to do with principles and behavioural patterns which can be learnt and applied to portray the true essence of leadership.

Leadership is more learnt that it is taught. An individual has to put effort and resources into learning the basic principles of leadership. The learning should provide the individual with a strong foundation full of truth and wisdom about leadership.

INSPIRATION, MOTIVATION, LEADERSHIP AND RELATIONSHIPS.

Jim Rohn once said that, "Motivation is like taking a bath, you can't do without a bath, and yesterday's bath is not sufficient for today so you have to take another bath."
What he was trying to bring across is that motivation that was powerful yesterday may not be powerful today. It is essential to be motivated daily and stay motivated every day.
Inspiration and Motivation.
Inspiration is the key to unlocking the immense potential that is in us. It helps us discover our uniqueness and the importance of our destiny. Everyone has something that they can do best.
Motivation gives us the power to keep moving and focus on our goals. It gives us the strength not to give up during hard times and to focus on the rewards that come after.
Inspiration and motivation will keep us focused, they can be a foundation of knowledge which we can hold on to as we succeed in life.

Leadership.         
Leadership is all about influence, it is the ability to obtain followers and help them realize their potential to achieve a certain goal. Leadership is a quality that is developed; it is being the person that others will gladly follow.
Leading has to do with casting a vision and motivating people. Being a leader is not about position, but about disposition, which will influence the way the follower thinks and feels. Leaders lead people with their hearts and not their minds.
Relationships.
Love is not just an act or a feeling, it is a commitment. Love grows with time, we actually choose to fall in love, it is never an accident. It is always based on a genuine relationship that focuses on respect for each other.

Whenever a person truly loves the other person, they grow self-less and think more of the other person. They give gladly and expect nothing in return. True love always focuses on deepening the relationship and acknowledges the importance of being patient with the other person.

DEFINING LEADERSHIP IS DIFFICULT.

Leadership has been a puzzle to many.
The term leadership is one of the most difficult to define. It has been discovered that everything rises and falls on leadership. If you apply the traits of leadership in your everyday life you shall probably be successful.
People See Leadership Differently.
People look at leadership from different angles, and how leadership has been applied in different platforms and then try to come up with a definition. In response to that, we have many definitions of leadership pointing to one direction but they vary in their meaning.
Many powerful stories are told about influential people. These stories cover the full history of leadership, showing different character traits expressed by the people and the kind of influence they had on a mass of people.
Leadership Stories.
In the narrations we see the people giving service to the society and the benefits the people of that society receive. The stories really bring out leadership in the frame of our minds and with such stories the essesnce of leadership is best captured.
Leadership is a very human activity. Leadership has to do with some human activity applied on a particular task or organisation. Being a manager or having a high position in an organisation does not necessarily make you a leader. The things that someone does like inspiring others to accomplish a certain task is the accomplishment of a leader.

Leadership is Influence.
When defining leadership there must be a human activity involved in the definition to make it more meaningful. With regards to human activity, your leadership skills will determine the level of your success. QUALITIES OF LEADERSHIP.

Qualities like integrity, honesty, fairness and credibility are fundamental and recurrent themes regardless of the leadership situation involved.
Qualities.
Integrity means being 'whole' and single minded. People with integrity live their lives like open books, they don't hide anything and their words and deeds match up.
Honesty has to do with telling the truth and never cheating or stealing. A leader who shows honesty should have a mind and an attitude of expressing the truth regardless of the consequences.
Fairness means that you're doing things in an acceptable and approriate way. Leaders who are fair treat everybody according to the rules without special regard for anyone.
Credibility is one of the best and greatest principle in leadership. Credibility has to do with belief and trust. A leader should be a person who can be trusted and they exercise the truth and positive change to people.

Leadership is Actions.
Leadership is difficult to define but you know it when you see it. By looking at a person in any level of leadership, you can tell whether he/she is a leader or not. We find that the easiest way to identify leadership is by seeing it been expressed.
People who have developed the leadership principles need not to say that they are leaders, it shows naturally on them. They carry an aura which attracts situations of leadership and they also havea great influence on people naturally, it just happens.
The ingredients of leadership can be learnt, you have to look for them and develop them.When defining leadership you must include human activities since leadership cannot do without them. Then there are basic qualities that should not miss such as honesty, integrity, fairness and credibility.
