Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to
succeed. That is Corita Kent's observation.
Life is worthwhile if you keep growing and improving
yourself. Life can be full of happiness and joy if you understand that
happiness is created from inside. No one and nothing is responsible for our
happiness, joy and success. When we take charge and assume full responsibility for
our outcomes then change begins to happen. Here are four guidelines to make
life worthwhile.
1.Keep teaching yourself.
Personal development is what makes the difference in a
person's life. Making a commitment to constantly learn more skills and improve
on the current one is important. We can learn through books, audiotapes,
seminars, events and trainings. We can also learn from our own mistakes and
improve our handling of similar situations. In our mistakes we should accept
the pain but not the guilt, and also embrace the lessons in it. A wonderful
remark was made by Orphan Pamuk when he said that, "I read a book one day
and my whole life was changed."
2.Learn From Other People's Experiences.
There is a controversial phrase that says, "Experience
is the best teacher." Some argue that if you experience a tough lesson it
can be very expensive and painful, they would rather not put themselves in the
situation. While others think that experiencing a lesson yourself is the best
way of learning. Either way we should learn from our own experiences and other
people's experiences too. It would be foolish to repeat the same mistake
someone did before you, just as it would be foolish to fall on the same trap
someone else fell.

3. Try.
No one has ever accomplished something without giving it the
first try.We need to give our dreams a try and see how far we can go. There is
a quote that says, trying and failing is better than not trying at all. The wright brothers gave the aeroplane a try and after countless fails, including a
crash, eventually they flew an aeroplane. Take that bold step. Try and see how
far you can go. This point can be well summarised by the famous Nike brand
which says"Just Do It."
4. Stay.
It's always important to finish whatever we start. When we
start a job, we need to stay on it until its finished. When involved in a
competition, it's important to play until we finish whether we win or lose. We
can't be building foundations and leaving unfinished jobs to start building
other foundations. Its amazing how Thomas Edison stayed on the job until he
made the light bulb. He stayed on the job until it was done, that is after 1000
attempts. Quitting has never done anyone any good and quitters never win.
Life IS worthwhile...
Life is meant to be a great journey. Its full of detours and lessons that try to make us better. We can make it more worthwhile if we commit to learn and grow throughout the process. We can also borrow lessons from people who have gone before us and gain leverage on their mistakes and experiences. Give life a try. Give your ambitions and aspirations a try. Stretch yourself and see how far you can go. Finish whatever you start. Don't leave any work unfinished or else someone will march to success riding on your precious efforts.JOIN MY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER TODAY FOR UPDATES ON LATEST BLOGPOSTS AND NEW eBOOKS.
