Confidence is not about lack of fear, it is about
moving forward inspite of fear. You might be scared to death but you still
execute and progress.
Someone once said that 10% of success is achieved
by just showing up. This calls for self confidence, believing in yourself and
in your abilities. It is not about being full of yourself, but accepting some
worthiness in you and stepping out to achieve what you need. Here are three things
you need to build confidence in;
1.
Build confidence in Yourself.
A research once revealed that top athletes
practice in their minds before they go out to the field to perform. They see
themselves performing extraordinarily well in their minds and winning the
tournaments even before they step into the field. This boosts their level of
confidence and enthusiasm to perform well.
2.
Build Confidence in Your Vision.
A vision is an image of the future, an image of
where you want to be a few years and what you want to achieve. Simon Sinek, a
leadership trainer teaches that a "vision should not be something within your
grasp, it should be something that even scares you when you think about it."
Even though a vision is something we have not yet
realized, we should be confident about it. We need to believe that we are going
to achieve it no matter what it takes. The bigger the vision, the greater the
opportunity of growth. The greater the vision, the more challenges will be met
to achieve it.

3.
Build Confidence in People.
Our attitudes are contagious and people can catch
it just like a cold. To instill the attitude of confidence in people you have
to portray confidence first. Just as a baby tries to imitate every move a
parent makes, followers imitate the leader.
As a leader, it is your responsibility to build
confidence in people. Tell your people that you believe in them and that you
are there to guide them. Create an atmosphere of growth and development.
Let your people try things and fail, teach them
on how to learn from their mistakes. Coonfidence is built by trying and doing,
then failing and learning, and then trying again with a wiser mindset and doing
it even better.
Confidence
is an Art.
Confidence is the art of believing in yourself no
matter what. Your competitors may be more qualified and better equipped but you
canstill show up and bring more competition.
Visualize a better future in a vision. A vision
that makes others think that you are crazy. Live in the future and build it in
the present. Think long-term and not short-term. Help other people build their
confidence in themselves.
Be their coach and trainer and instill confidence in
them. Their is a phrase that says, "We can learn more by teaching
others."The more this art is mastered,
the better placed you are for a life of success.
